ZION ROOFTOP CLUB RETURNS ON 9 OCTOBER

A new tropical direction, fire dancing and drums. Zion’s rooftop relaunch is our pick to build your Friday night around, with four more options for the rest of the weekend.

THE QUICK ANSWER

Zion’s relaunch is set for Friday 9 October 2026, at 87A Hàm Nghi. Returning as Zion Rooftop Club after renovations, it brings a tropical setting and an Asian festival theme to the rooftop, with new performances, fire dancing and drums planned for opening night. The free flow drinks and cannoli showcase are for invited guests.

SAME ADDRESS. A NEW REASON TO GO.

If you know the old Zion Sky Lounge, this is a reason to take another look. The new direction leans into tropical design and festival-style entertainment, bringing more than a change of name to the rooftop.

We’d choose it for friends who want the setting and performances to be part of the night. You’ve got the rooftop backdrop, a relaunch to make an occasion of and entertainment beyond a DJ booth. It’s a different choice from travelling across the city purely to hear a particular artist.

MAKE ZION YOUR MAIN STOP

The opening programme brings together fire dancing, drums and new performances. If that sounds like your group’s kind of night, give it room in the plan. Have dinner first, agree where to meet and leave the rest of the evening open.

For a group table, think about what everyone wants from the night. A clear view of the performances may matter more than a corner for conversation. Get the actual table position before choosing a spend level, so you’re comparing where you’ll be sitting as well as what’s included.

If your friends are going specifically for jungle, drum and bass or harder techno, the other weekend picks below give you a more music-focused starting point.

KNOW WHAT YOUR INVITATION INCLUDES

The free flow drinks and cannoli showcase are invitation only. They aren’t a complimentary offer for everyone who visits.

Keep that separate from your table plans. Your reservation should make the arrival time, guest allowance and any minimum spend clear, along with whether you have access to the invitation offer. That leaves you free to enjoy the night without sorting out the details at the door.

ELSEWHERE IN SAIGON THIS WEEKEND

Zion leads our 9 to 11 October edit. For a different sound, here are four more nights to consider. All times are local to Ho Chi Minh City, with late finishes falling on the following morning.

FRIDAY: GENERAL LEVY AT BLUE MONKEY

Pick this for jungle and drum and bass, with General Levy bringing a live MC performance to Blue Monkey. Standard entry is VND 500,000, with VND 750,000 door entry subject to capacity. Tickets are through Scientific Sound Asia. It’s the more direct Friday choice when the music is the main reason you’re going out.

SATURDAY: CØLLISION AT LE CAFÉ DES STAGIAIRES

For friends who like their techno harder: industrial techno, hard techno and hard dance, from 10pm to 3am in Thảo Điền. ANEMAN, ENZ, LIUAN, NOTYUTING and YASMIN are on the bill. Tickets are through Resident Advisor. Make this your late-night plan, rather than treating a dinner reservation as entry to the party.

SATURDAY: SNUG AT THE OBSERVATORY

House and disco, a queer-welcoming party and a long Saturday night: 9pm to 6am. David Elimelech, Ouissam and Your Nikola are among the DJs. Entry is listed at VND 150,000 online or VND 250,000 at the door, with tickets through Resident Advisor. This suits a group that wants to settle into the music and stay for more than a quick club stop.

SUNDAY: OUISSAM B2B HIBIYA LINE

An option for anyone whose weekend doesn’t end on Saturday: house and disco on The Observatory’s terrace only, from 9pm to 3am Monday, with VND 50,000 door entry. Keep the Monday finish in mind if you’ve got an early start. Admission is separate from reserved seating.
