THE QUICK ANSWER

Start with one decision: is dinner the main occasion, or the start of a bigger night? Put Yuzu on your shortlist for a chef-led meal, Quince for wood-fired cooking and Cee’s for familiar favourites with friends. For an announced 31 December dinner, The Albion offers early and late sittings, while Saigon Kitchen has an evening buffet. Pick the finish time as carefully as the food.

The Yuzu, Quince and Cee’s recommendations below describe their usual dining styles. Their 31 December menus, sittings and availability need confirming before you commit. The hotel dinners have announced dates and times, but a programme is still different from a confirmed reservation.

YUZU: GIVE THE MEAL YOUR ATTENTION

Yuzu Omakase is for the person who gets as excited about dinner as the party afterwards. At its Thủ Khoa Huân address, the experience centres on Japanese courses chosen by the chef, with a modern approach to presentation. The counter puts the preparation in front of you, rather than leaving the kitchen out of sight.

We’d shortlist it for a couple or friends who want to follow the meal together. That course sequence is the appeal, so don’t squeeze it between a late arrival and an early club booking. Get the start and expected finish of your chosen sitting before deciding what comes next.

Share dietary needs when you enquire, too. A chef-led menu needs that conversation before the evening, rather than while everyone is taking their seats.

QUINCE: WOOD FIRE, WINE AND A PROPER DINNER

Quince brings a different kind of theatre: an open kitchen beside a warm dining room in a restored colonial house on Ký Con. Wood fire and seasonal ingredients shape the cooking, with Mediterranean influences. It’s a good shortlist choice when the group cares about food but wants the evening to revolve around conversation at the table.

The room matters here. A table near the kitchen makes the cooking part of your view; a more separate setting changes the feel of the occasion. Quince also has a private dining room on Level 1, so a larger celebration can ask about that option instead of assuming several restaurant tables will feel like one gathering.

Choose the actual room and layout before discussing decorations or extras. Then confirm the holiday menu, sitting and any spending requirement for that space.

CEE’S: FOR FRIENDS WHO WANT DINNER TO FEEL EASY

Cee’s Eatery on Trương Định is the one we’d put in a group chat when people have different ideas about dinner. Its everyday food identity centres on dry-aged steaks, wood-fired pizza and handmade pasta. That gives you a clearer starting point than asking everyone to agree to the same tasting menu.

The dining room has warm pendant lighting, greenery and tables tucked beneath a curved concrete ceiling. It looks like somewhere to settle in with friends, rather than a formal occasion built around a fixed procession of courses.

For a gathering that needs its own space, Cee’s lists two private rooms, each seating up to 15. Treat that as a room-size starting point, then ask about the menu, layout and terms for your date. Don’t assume its regular à la carte choices or room prices apply on New Year’s Eve.

ANNOUNCED DINNERS FOR 31 DECEMBER 2026

At Hôtel des Arts Saigon, 76–78 Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, the timing gives you three different plans. All times below are Vietnam time.

Dinner

Announced hours

How it fits

The Albion by Kirk Westaway, early set menu

5pm to 7:30pm, 31 December

A special dinner before a separate evening plan.

The Albion by Kirk Westaway, late set menu

7:30pm, 31 December to 12:30am, 1 January

A dinner that carries through midnight.

Saigon Kitchen, NYE dinner buffet

7pm to 11pm, 31 December

A buffet evening with a separate midnight plan.

The Albion’s British and modern European direction suits a meal you want to make an occasion of. Saigon Kitchen offers the buffet format instead. Ask for the full per-person quote, drinks inclusions and cancellation terms for the sitting you choose. A restaurant reservation should not be treated as admission to the hotel’s separate rooftop countdown.

LEAVE TIME TO ENJOY BOTH PARTS OF THE NIGHT

If you’re going to a club afterwards, work backwards from its confirmed arrival deadline, not from midnight. Allow for finishing dinner, settling the bill, getting everyone together, the journey and entry at the next venue. Tell the restaurant when you need to leave before accepting a sitting.

We wouldn’t book a long dinner for its last hour and spend the meal watching the clock. Equally, if the late dinner is what you’re excited about, let that be the celebration. You don’t need a second venue to make the night feel complete.

For the next stop, our New Year’s Eve guide to PAPI, Zion and APLUS helps you choose between a social club table, a rooftop that builds into a party and a night centred on the DJ.

BEFORE ANYONE PAYS A DEPOSIT

  • Ask which menu you’re booking. A restaurant’s usual menu and its 31 December offer are different decisions. Confirm the dishes or course format, drinks and any dietary arrangements.

  • Get an all-in quote. Include VAT, service, drinks and any room or minimum-spend requirement. A starting price alone won’t tell the whole group what dinner costs.

  • Put the sitting and cancellation terms in writing. Include the deposit, balance deadline, guest-count changes, late arrivals and when the table needs to be returned.

LET’S PUT DINNER AND THE REST OF YOUR NIGHT TOGETHER

Tell us your group size, dinner budget and where you’d like to be at midnight. We can help you narrow the restaurant choice and connect it with the rest of your evening.

Consultation and itinerary design are free. Optional transport, VIP hosts and itinerary management are quoted separately, and venue bills are paid directly to the venues. Our free club-only booking service doesn’t set restaurant deposit or booking terms; those are confirmed for your chosen restaurant and date.
